Wednesday involved more epic rain, a blogger get-together, and a sparkly craft. A good day.

Jan. 19th
Even though we had spectacular amounts of rain today (even including a bonus thunderstorm!), we actually managed to use a small window of sunshine for a quick walk around our block and some delightful puddle-jumping right in our driveway.
Some of us may or may not have gotten carried away...(Special thanks to Inka for taking both of those photos. And yes, my pants were wet after this. I'd say it was worth it.)

Jan. 17th
We lingered over breakfast and played around on the internet. We took our time in the shower and watched half a movie. The nice thing about being woken up at 6:30am is that there is so much morning to loaf away... after all that loafing, it was still early (not even 11 yet), so we walked on down to the farmer's market to buy delicious local blueberries (apparently picked yesterday!) and carrots (no idea when they were picked... pulled, rather).
While we were walking around on the market, I spied a baby who was wearing a hat I had made and sold at the store. It was pretty much the best thing ever!

(I wonder if Steve Jobs still gets that kind of a high when he sees a jogger with an iPod. Maybe not anymore. Anyhow.)
We stopped in at work, where I ran into a customer who was interested in buying a hat "like this one" in a different size, so... I got my very first custom order! :)
After lunch, we left Noah with his favorite playmate (Papa) and skipped off to the mall, where I acquired a shiny new pasta pot and a pair of skinny jeans.

So... a pretty darn good day!

Jan. 16th
My sister is visiting and I'm determined to blog every day-ish of her stay. Yesterday was completely unexciting - drive to LAX and back with a sick child, freaking out over a head injury*, early bedtime all around. But today! Today was interesting.First, Inka and I took Noah for a walk and to play in a park. There was a reassuring number of toddlers with bruises/band aids on their head, which wasn't funny at all, and yet was sort of... funny. (I hope you know what I mean.)
While Noah took his nap, we cleaned up and decluttered and rearranged my sewing room. The forecast is calling for nearly Biblical amounts of rain next week (in other words: sewing weather) and I wanted to be prepared.
Later that afternoon, we headed out to the local paint-your-own-pottery place where Papa took care of Noah (thanks, love!) and Inka painted a little vase for me and I painted a kitchen plaque for Inka.
We had dinner at In'N'Out, got Noah to bed, and... watched some Chuck. What else could we have done?!
* Noah fell head-first onto the edge of the piano bench. A half-golf-ball-sized lump grew on his forehead in less than a minute. It was scary, but we've all recovered well.

Guys, I know Kung Fu.
We had the most awesome party to celebrate the return of Chuck this past weekend. More details later, when I have recovered sufficiently from staying up way past midnight. Menawhile, you can click on over to flickr and enjoy the photos.
