You too can buy your doctor's home phone number!

I thought this was a hoax, but it's in the Times, so it has to be real. For only $15,000, your doctor will ACTUALLY take care of you! FIFTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS! Five digits! (On top of what your insurance pays, of course.)
The sad part is that the services that are offered at that price are things you should not have to pay extra for! Okay, so perhaps the massages go above and beyond the normal scope of prenatal care, but seriously - 15K for your doctor's PRESENCE DURING LABOR? For his/her CONTACT INFORMATION? For not having to WAIT?
Give. me. a. break.
Turns out my "expensive" midwife care is actually a great deal.

NO way would I pay that. I couldnt have a midwife anyway because of the C-sections with the girls.. But hope all is well.

If you really want to get in a tizzy about what kind of prenatal care we "should" get, rent "Sicko." Then try not to move to France before the baby gets here.
