highlight

The highlight of my Thanksgiving this year was when the police showed up.
We were celebrating in the clubhouse of grandma's senior housing park, and people had been in and out using the ice machine a few times, so we weren't particularly surprised or worried to see 2 cops walking in. As a matter of fact, we even cracked some (lame) jokes.
Turns out one of The Husband's cousins had been curious about how the emergency phone worked since it had no number buttons at all. Instead of reading the sign next to it, he picked it up... resulting in an automatic 911 call.
Good times.

I have a nasty habit of getting to curious about buttons and plugs in retail store and setting off alarms. You'd think I'd learn, but apparently? Not so much.

Sounds like one heck of a party!

My son did the same thing on his 6th grade class trip. His teacher NEVER forgave him. :(

Once when my brother was little he pulled the emergency stop on the escalator in Sears. Bells rang and store employees converged on us from all corners of the store in about two seconds flat. I think they were all a little disappointed there was no blood, just a mischevious 4-year-old and his embarrassed mom and big sister.

And I was really hoping they were strippers...

You know hitting 9 1 and hanging up will automatically call the cops too.
Found that out the hard way.
