window 1 (the troubling one)
I finished my kitchen curtains just before midnight the day before the party. I purchased the material Thanksgiving weekend, and it's been sitting on the sewing room table, waiting for me to figure out how in the world I would make the scalloped edges I was planning. Then I realized that if I put a curtain rod on one of the two windows, I would no longer be able to open the cabinet door, because the hinges of the door are on the window-side of the cabinet and the window is all but an inch away from the cabinet. The break-through came when I realized that I could use a wooden dowel and put it up with a small metal hook. Brilliant, easy, and cheap. Go me! The idea with the ribbons came to me as I was procrastinating finding out how to make scalloped edges.
Pretty good, eh?
